Our Favorite Coffee Ritual: Brewing with the Eureka Pour-Over Set

A quick guide to making the perfect cup with the Eureka — plus why the process matters as much as the coffee.

There’s a reason pour-over coffee has become a Thing. It’s not just about the taste (though the taste is exceptional). It’s about the three minutes of intentional, hands-on calm before the chaos of the day kicks in. The Eureka Pour-Over Set was designed with that ritual in mind.

Here’s how we brew at the Sellwise studio — nothing fussy, just a simple method that produces a consistently great cup.

The setup

Start with 24 grams of medium-coarse ground coffee (about 3 tablespoons if you don’t have a scale). Bring 400ml of water to about 205°F — if you don’t have a thermometer, just let it come to a boil and wait 30 seconds. Place the stainless filter on the Eureka carafe and add your grounds.

The pour

Start with a small pour — just enough to wet all the grounds — and wait 30 seconds. This is the bloom, where CO2 escapes and the coffee bed expands. Then pour slowly in a steady spiral from the center outward, keeping the water level about halfway up the filter. The whole pour should take about 2.5 to 3 minutes.

The result

The stainless mesh filter lets more of the coffee’s natural oils through compared to paper, so you’ll get a cup with more body and a slightly richer mouthfeel. It won’t be quite as crystal-clear as a Chemex (for that, try the Mendocino), but we think the tradeoff is worth it.

Our favorite pairing: the Eureka on the counter, a Sonoma Planter with a small herb on the windowsill, and the Encinitas Desk Light on low in the corner. It’s a whole mood, and it takes about five minutes to set up, three minutes to brew, and zero minutes to appreciate.
